UCL’s Living Lab is using our research to improve the sustainability of the Estate. In 2012 we launched a competition for visualising environmental data. The winners used wifi and online tools to compare occupancy rates and building energy use.20th May 2014
The 1960s lighting scheme at the Bloomsbury Theatre was so inefficient that maintenance staff were spending an average of 4 hours a week changing the ‘popped’ bulbs, The theatre changed all its bulbs for LEDs and is now saving 15 tonnes of CO2/year.20th May 2014
We are busy making the estate more energy efficient by installing new heating controls, efficient lighting; upgrading our building energy management system and providing extra metering. This will lead to over 500 tonnes of carbon savings each year.20th May 2014
