Success for TLC wards

Written by Martyn from Great Ormond Street Hospital on 30th June 2015

Abi and I (Operation TLC team at GOSH) had a fabulous visit to GOSH the week before last. It was a great opportunity to thank the ward staff for joining the Operation TLC programme and reward them for all of their hard work. The nurses have done a great job using natural light where they can and reducing the amount of artificial night at light. We were able to provide certificates to Koala, Eagle, Elephant and Lion & Giraffe.

“Thank you so much, that’s great news.”

The pilot programme has been a great success. We had a tremendous response from all of the hospital staff and we are looking forward to kicking off the campaign across many more hospital wards.

That's great news!!! I'm delighted that the wards have taken actions to make the ward more comfortable for our patients by using more natural day light. It means a better experience for patients, it saves the Trust money and it means a lower Carbon Footprint. Everyone is happy!!!

Well done to everyone who has taken part in operation TLC@GOSH. Thanks for your enthusiasm willingness to take on board this initiative. It's great for patients as well as the environment and our finances. Looking forward to rolling this out to the whooe hospital!
