Operation TLC is currently being launched in a few wards within Great Ormond Street Hospital to pilot a campaign reducing the use of artificial lighting where there is sufficient daylight. Staff, patients and visitors to the wards are being supported to take better control of the local lighting through face to face engagement, improved labelling of lighting, and interactive posters. After the initial support, the Operation TLC team will be getting feedback on how the pilot was received on the wards, as well as looking at energy, lighting level and survey response data to determine its success. After this the team will start gearing up to role the campaign out to the rest of the Great Ormond Street wards.
The pilot campaign will run in wards for around 6 weeks in Miffy, Rainforest, Lion, Giraffe, Elephant, Eagle & Koala wards.
